Encompass solution selected to provide personalized communications to increase engagement

April 19, 2011 - Overland Park, Kan. – The Michigan State University Office of University Advancement recently partnered with Overland Park-based iModules. In selecting iModules, the Michigan State University Alumni Association, University Development, and multiple college units will use Encompass for their online engagement solution. The overarching goals of the partnership are to provide a user-friendly website presence and to drive personalized email communications to increase participation, affinity, awareness, and giving back to the university.

“In addition to iModules’ highly-regarded reputation, a key determining factor for selecting the company was their long-standing and growing relationship with SunGard Higher Education. A relationship that will enable a seamless data exchange between Encompass and our master database SunGard Advance,” said Robert Groves, Vice President for University Advancement at MSU.

In partnering with iModules, MSU University Advancement will be in a position to level its web presence and services to its more than 800,000 alumni, donors and friends. The information gathered will give the entire university a broader perspective on the interest and engagement needs of their constituents.

“Encompass will enable us to use technology to automate and synchronize business processes related to content management, direct marketing campaigns, membership marketing, unified messaging, online giving, calendaring and event registrations. The analytical capabilities as both a tool and component of our efforts will enable us to monitor and better understand the actions and preferences of our constituents so that profiles can be built and business strategies can be informed,” Groves said.

MSU University Advancement will use the functionality of Encompass to manage their web presence and constituent engagement. iModules will provide MSU with a unique web presence that will include custom designs for the different units using Encompass, offering each their own unique set of administrative tools to maintain communication with their various audiences.
