The University of Wyoming is a public, land-grant university founded in 1886. UW is the state’s only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and outreach services. With more than 13,000 students on its campus, it provides students with more than 180 programs of study in its seven colleges.

Located in Laramie, Wyo., the main campus is situated in Wyoming’s rugged mountains and high plains. Laramie was recently voted one of America’s top 40 college towns by Outside magazine. The university also maintains the UW/Casper College Center, nine outreach education centers across Wyoming, and Cooperative Extension Service centers in each of the state's 23 counties and on the Wind River Indian Reservation. UW offers its students many extracurricular activities, with more than 150 student organizations that range from social, professional, and academic groups. The University of Wyoming launched its new website with Encompass. Visit their new site.
