news: Penn State University

Pennsylvania State University is a public, land-grant university founded in 1855. With more than 44,000 students on its 5,448-acre main campus, University Park, Penn State is one of the ten largest public universities in the United States. Along with the University Park campus, PSU has over 20 additional campuses spanning the state of Pennsylvania, serving more than 86,500 students in total.

Currently, more than 1,200 student organizations are recognized within the Penn State organization. In addition, the school has one of the largest Greek systems in the country, with approximately 12 percent of University Park students affiliated with a fraternity or sorority. The Nittany Lions, Penn State’s NCAA Division I men’s and women’s athletic teams, have won more than 120 national team, individual, and club team championships, making Penn State one of the most successful athletic programs in the country.
